Optical Design
Innovative optics are designed to give maximum performance at full aperture, producing outstanding imaging with both film and digital cameras with controlled flare and low residual aberrations.

Focus Movement
Our Academy Award® winning cam-style focus movement, coupled with the benefit of a suitably large lens barrel diameter, allows for an increased number of focus markings, particularly at close focus. A four-point contact bearing also provides a smooth positive backlash-free movement.

/i Technology
Accessible via a cable connector near the lens mount and synchronises with /i compatible cameras and accessories. The electronics board has also been resized and repositioned for ease of serviceability.

Compatibility
The majority of S8/i FF lenses have a common fixed front diameter of 104mm, with a focus drive gear of 140T x 0.8 mod and an iris drive gear of 134T x 0.8.

Iris
The new S8/i range features a nine-leaf linear module iris assembly, which creates our trademark smooth, round bokeh.

External Finish
Every Cooke lens is coated with a scratch resistant PTFE hard anodised finish, which provides a durable, hard-wearing surface to meet the most demanding environmental conditions.
